This is a kennel run by me, Mikaela Sandbacka and
my partner Patrik play a part in it. I’ve wanted a dog all my
life and started harassing my parents at the age of seven. My first
dog, a Shetland Sheepdog, was a male called Tim. He moved in in 97,
I was twelve at the time.
I learned a lot from my time with Tim so naturally I wanted a second
dog as I couldn’t do shows nor compete with Tim as much as I would
have wanted. This led to Rosie moving in, another Sheltie. I made my
show depute with Rosie that resulted in a blue stripe, I have
learned a lot since. Rosie and I started competing in agility. She
reached Class 3 in both disciplines and has one certificate. We had
a try at Obedience but it didn’t turn out to be our thing, so we
spent all our time on the agility course. She was supposed to be my
broodbitch but unfortunately she turned out to have C on one of her
hips. She is now forced to retire due to Health conditions.
Since neither of my Shelties had been entirely healthy I started
searching for a new breed. I found the Japanese Spitz. After
attending a lot of shows and extensive research I decided to go with
Enfloy’z kennel and made a reservation for a bitch puppy there.
After a year and a half Diva arrived, an absolutely lovely dog! She
is now Swedish Champion, Swedish Agility (jump) Champion and the
mother of twelve gorgeous puppies (two litters).
Later I bought a dog from Enfloy’s Kennel, little Nike. I just adore
his mother and couldn’t refuse the offer to buy him! He is
absolutely lovely and has managed to become Swedish Champion and is
the proud father of fifteen puppies in three litters
As Rosie started getting older and Tim moved to a friend of mine in
the Swedish country side region of Värmland I got the urge for a new
Sheltie. I started looking for combinations I liked and found
Sannie. She’s my little sweetheart. Unfortunately she didn’t become
something worth taking to shows, even though she’s attended once
with a red stripe. But she’s a rocket on the agility course. Her
first litter she got two puppies, sadly they both died after just
two days. I will probably try once more.
As it turned out, Annie (Daughter of Diva) adored me above all else
apart from maybe her mother and refused to leave our pack after a
visit. I got the ownership from my mom and her friend this
Christmas. She is incredibly beautiful and currently has four
certificates, one cacib and 3 winner titles. Furthermore she’s a
rocked on the agility course.
Future plans hold imports of both breeds but when that will happen
we are unsure of.
Next dog will be Patriks first dog of his own and will be called
Adidas (his father is Nike). He’s from the C litter (C’s Circus
Clown). It wasn’t planned but he has many features from his father
Nike who is best friends with Patrik, so he couldn’t resist having
his child here with us, to train and love from the very start. We
both hope he will become at least as beautiful as his father and
mother. He shows the sign of a future Agility dog; he loves toys and
is absolutely crazy.
Chezzay’s breeding goals:
We
want to breed dogs with plenty of working spirit with a healthy and
for the breed typical exterior. The dogs used for breeding by
Chezzay’s have been shown with a result of first price and up. They
are also actively trained on the agility course. We will make random
testing of hips, elbows, and knees of our Japanese Spitz’s as
there’s no severe problems in the breed at the moment. We will check
hips and eyes on our shelties. Eye’s since it is required and hips
cause we feel too many severe faults are appearing. Should the
situation change we will then revaluate the situation. |
